Description
This is an opening for a legal assistant in our general business practice supporting two to three attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience, but we are willing to train the right candidate. This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week) with benefits.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain legal files including general organization, index transaction documents, and organize files for closing and post-closing.
- Document drafting and finalization including letters, memos, and general business documents.
- Maintain and track schedules, deadlines and calendars.
- Schedule meetings, conferences and closings.
- Coordinate travel arrangements.
- Enter, edit and/or finalize billable time and client billings.
- Answer a high volume of telephone calls and take accurate telephone messages.
- Open new files.
- Research and respond to inquiries and requests for information.
- Provide other support as necessary.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent word processing skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members.
- Ability to handle and adjust effectively to competing deadlines and priorities.
- Typing speed of 50+ wpm.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Client service focused.
- High level of professionalism.
- Overtime be required as necessary.
Salary Description
$20 - $25 per hour DOE
- $20 - $25/hour
