Legal Internship Overview:
The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking a Legal Intern to join our Contracts & Procurement team within the office of Legal Counsel. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to partake in important agency projects and initiatives. In addition to gaining practical work experience in the legal field, ODM offers flexible hours and a hybrid work schedule to support your academic needs in conjunction with the needs of the agency.
Under the general direction of a licensed attorney, your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting legal documents including contracts, grants, inter-agency agreements, and assisting in special projects of value to the Ohio Medicaid program
- Conducting legal research and preparing reports on findings
- Writing, editing, and tracking material content development and changes using applicable software including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Performing other duties as assigned (e.g., special projects, maintaining logs, records, and files)

This internship is part-time, temporary.
This position is unclassified per 124.11 (A) (12), Ohio Revised Code.
Travel required, as needed. Must provide own transportation. Or, in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school
- Must have completed at least one year of law school
- Minimum 2.5 GPA required
