POSITION SUMMARY
Under moderate supervision, the Aircraft Paralegal assists the Aviation practice with projects related to the aviation industry. As a member of a professional support staff team, this position will also promote and maintain the goodwill and reputation of the Firm and maintain the highest level of professional conduct and confidentiality.

- Prepare legal documents such as Security Instrument Releases, Lease Terminations, FAA Bills of Sale, Aircraft Registration Applications, Statements in Support of Citizenship and other miscellaneous documentation necessary for various aircraft transactions
- Transactions will involve the buying, selling, leasing and financing of aircraft
- Examine aircraft, engine and propeller records of the Federal Aviation Administration and prepare title notes showing the chain of ownership and status of encumbrances of aircraft and the status of encumbrances against engines and propellers
- Examine Priority Search Certificates issued by the International Registry and compare them with FAA records
- Prepare preliminary drafts of closing opinions and correspondence with clients and their counsel
- Assist in organizing documents for aircraft transactions and maintaining document files with respect to such transactions
- Communicate with clients and the Federal Aviation Administration Aircraft Registry
- Perform functions necessary to make web-based registrations on the International Registry of Mobile Assets
- Run Know Your Customer searches and reviewing FAA/International Registry/UCC searches
- Ability to handle multiple transactions and tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge and/or background in review of corporate documents both foreign and domestic.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School diploma or the equivalent is required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of legal experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Skilled with MS Office Suite and other office products.

Strong organizational skills to maintain work lists, organize documents, and monitor deadlines and filings. Ability to ask questions, clarify issues, and provide project updates as needed. Excellent written and oral communication skills (comprehension & expression). Strong command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style. Detail-oriented and ability to create, compose, proof and edit correspondence. Possess sense of initiative and responsibility to manage case load and maintain confidentiality of records and information. Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment and maintain case/trial deadlines.

Work environment is in a professional office setting. The majority of activity this role performs will be sedentary work.
