As a member of our APAC Privacy Team you’ll play an important part in upholding Apple’s high ethical and corporate standards.

Part of making products great is designing products that respect consumer security and privacy. \\n\\nAs APAC Privacy Counsel, reporting to Apple’s Senior Privacy Counsel in Beijing, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and experienced team on privacy issues impacting Apple’s business and products globally. You will work directly with business and engineering teams to provide compliance and geographic counselling integrated into the design of innovative privacy solutions for products as well as across the legal department on Apple activities and regulatory issues, particularly in China mainland.

Your responsibilities will include privacy by design reviews and projects, assist with handling privacy inquiries, incidents or complaints, support compliance and auditing frameworks, advise on privacy aspects of licensing and procurement deals, ensure privacy compliance with local legal requirements and internal policies, analyse lawful responses to law enforcement requests, and assist with drafting of policies and procedures surrounding privacy laws.

Minimum Qualifications\\nStrong experience and understanding of China mainland data protection and data security laws, with experience and knowledge of privacy laws in other APAC jurisdictions a plus.\\nExcellent academic credentials with at least 7 years privacy experience at a top-tier law firm, in-house or at a mainland China regulator, prior work with MNC a plus.\\nExperienced in dealing with regulators in China mainland regarding data privacy and cybersecurity matters.\\nBased in Beijing or Shanghai, or based in China mainland and willing to move to Beijing or Shanghai.\\nExperienced in handling privacy inquiries, complaints and incidents.\\nExperience in privacy by design reviews and projects, doing data protection impact assessments (DPIA).\\nExperience in drafting and negotiating privacy related contracts, developing compliance and auditing frameworks\\nExtraordinary written and verbal skills in English, and written and verbal fluency in Mandarin\\nAbility and commitment to work both independently and collaboratively with numerous people at all levels throughout the company, with a willingness to learn\\nComfortable expressing a point of view and influencing change in a collaborative manner\\nAdmitted to practice law in China mainland.

Sound business judgment, and flexibility/adaptability to handle multiple wide-ranging matters, conflicting deadlines, and new areas of expertise as business needs change\\nDemonstrated ability, in a positive, commercial and practical manner, to identify, prioritise and resolve issues quickly and effectively
