Duties If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for enforcing Federal Criminal and Civil laws that protect life, liberty, and the property of citizens. As a Paralegal Specialist in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO), you will be providing assistance on a variety of cases involving illegal immigration, illegal trafficking of human beings or dangerous drugs, and targeting the Cartels and Transitional Criminal Organizations (TCOs), including those designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations(FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs) pursuant to Executive Order 14157.If selected, you will receive formal and/or on-the-job training as needed. Typical work assignments will include: Draft motions, responses, and briefs Perform detailed, complex legal research in connection with cases involving criminal jurisdiction. Assist attorneys with legal research Monitor opinions issued by the Supreme Court and other Court of Appeals and provide summaries of opinions. Review and organize complex factual material and other documentary data for investigations and trials. Use tables and citation checking with efficiency. Develop and enter various case material into a computer database. Prepare charts, graphs, and tables to illustrate results. Prepare, develop, compile, or maintain jury instructions in preparing for trial. Prepare exhibits for trial which typically involve a wide range of visual materials. Provide litigation case management and organize cases for court presentation. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Salary- $62,009 - $97,528/year
