Franklin Thomas, Inc. is seeking an experienced Patent Prosecution Paralegal to join our team in New York, NY. With a minimum of 5 years of experience, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent law and a deep understanding of the patent prosecution process. As a Patent Prosecution Paralegal, you will work closely with our team of attorneys to assist in all aspects of patent prosecution, including drafting and filing patent applications, responding to office actions, and managing patent portfolios. You will also be responsible for conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and communicating with clients and government agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. You must also have a thorough understanding of the USPTO rules and procedures, as well as experience with patent docketing systems. Key Responsibilities: - Draft and file patent applications with the USPTO - Prepare responses to office actions - Conduct legal research and analyze patent law issues - Manage patent portfolios and maintain accurate records - Communicate with clients and government agencies - Prepare legal documents, such as assignments and declarations - Assist attorneys with patent litigation and licensing matters - Maintain knowledge of USPTO rules and procedures - Utilize patent docketing systems to manage deadlines and reminders - Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective patent prosecution processes - Stay updated on industry developments and changes in patent law Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Patent Prosecution Paralegal - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in patent law - Strong understanding of patent prosecution process and USPTO rules and procedures - Excellent organizational and time-management skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines - Attention to detail and accuracy - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Proficient in legal research and document preparation - Experience with patent docketing systems - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Familiarity with patent litigation and licensing a plus At Franklin Thomas, Inc., we value our employees and offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
