JOB PURPOSE
Manage a caseload of complex medical negligence cases from inception through resolution. This includes drafting legal documents, collaborating with medical experts, representing clients in legal proceedings, maintaining case files, communicating with stakeholders, and staying updated on relevant laws and precedents.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES
Evaluate potential medical malpractice claims and determine case viability.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and memoranda.
Manage all phases of litigation including discovery, depositions, and pre-trial preparation.
Collaborate with medical experts to develop case theories and support litigation strategy.
Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations.
Maintain accurate case files and documentation in compliance with firm standards.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in Colorado.
3–7 years of litigation experience in medical malpractice.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and rules of evidence.
Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
Trial experience or significant deposition experience.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
Experience working with expert witnesses and complex medical records.
Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare systems.
Proficiency in legal case management software.
