Position Summary
The Investigator - Property Damage Specialist supports our personal injury practice by performing field investigations and managing automobile property damage claims. This hybrid role is ideal for a detail-oriented and client-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The specialist is responsible for obtaining vital evidence, coordinating damage appraisals and repairs, and ensuring clients receive compassionate and effective assistance during a challenging time.
Essential Functions
Key Investigative Responsibilities:
  • Obtain surveillance footage related to motor vehicle accidents and premises liability cases
  • Conduct background research and locate individuals for statements or asset reviews
  • Interview witnesses, including recording formal statements
  • Hand-deliver legal and firm documents as needed
Key Property Damage Responsibilities:
  • Manage all phases of auto property damage claims for clients
  • Coordinate vehicle inspections, appraisals, repairs, and total loss determinations
  • Handle rental car arrangements and liaise with body shops and insurance adjusters
  • Review damage estimates, photographs, and repair documentation
  • Maintain detailed records in the firm’s case management system
  • Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and follow-up

Qualifications
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
  • 2+ years in investigations, insurance claims, or property damage handling
  • Experience in a law firm or insurance setting strongly preferred
Skills:
  • Case documentation and follow-through
  • Legal case management software familiarity
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (highly preferred)
Other Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
Physical Requirements
Communication:
  • Frequent phone and in-person communication required. Must be able to speak and listen clearly.
Vision:
  • Visual acuity to review documents, videos, and photographs; sufficient vision for safe vehicle operation.
Hearing:
  • Ability to comprehend verbal statements and interview content; auditory acuity for safe vehicle operation.
Sitting/Standing:
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk or in a vehicle; some standing during site visits.
Mobility:
  • Ability to travel to sites, conduct fieldwork, and navigate various environments.
Manual Dexterity:
  • Use of hands for document handling, data entry, and operating vehicle controls.
Lifting:
  • Occasional lifting of documents, equipment, or materials up to 25 pounds.
Vehicle Operation:
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely for local travel and field investigations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities but is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards across all office locations.
Work Environment
  • This is a hybrid position that includes remote work, in-office attendance as needed, and extensive fieldwork based on case demands.
  • Frequent travel is required for conducting investigations, interviews, and site visits, often in varying weather conditions and geographic areas.
  • Regular driving in high-traffic environments and exposure to environmental elements such as heat, rain, or uneven terrain may occur during field activities.
  • Work may involve irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on the urgency or complexity of active investigations.
  • Office-based tasks may include working in a shared or private office setting with standard business equipment and moderate noise levels.
  • Fieldwork may include interactions in residential, commercial, or public spaces with varying conditions and safety considerations.
  • The position requires adaptability to switch between high-focus analytical work and dynamic, real-time problem-solving in the field.
