Position Summary: The Paralegal is responsible for contributing to the work of the Compliance and Legal Department.  The Paralegal will participate in the preparation and management of compliance and legal matters including research, drafting, filings, registrations, documentation updates and assembly, contracts, and correspondence.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts legal research as needed in various areas of law and compliance impacting the global business.
  • Conducts issue spotting, information gathering, and analysis of legal and compliance issues presented by various departments throughout the business.
  • Drafts, revises, and updates documentation including policies, procedures, work instructions, correspondence, memorandums of law, and legal briefs.
  • Manages flow and management of Company contracts including contract review, drafting, revising, updating, amending, formatting, completion, follow up, documentation, and archival.
  • Leads coordinator of Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio through maintenance of IP information, documentation, facilitation of updates and new filings and communication with stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with other departments throughout the Company to mitigate legal and compliance risks to the business.
  • Supports and participates in legal and compliance related projects throughout the business including data governance, North American markets, international compliance, and healthcare funding process
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to conduct legal research.
  • Ability to draft policies, procedures, and correspondence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A team player with the ability to work with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft 365 – Teams, Outlook and Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other relevant systems).
  • Flexible and able to adjust to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of and respect for the need for confidentiality.


Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or paralegal certification is required.
  • At least one year of experience in a law office or corporate law setting is required.
  • Experience conducting legal research is preferred.
  • Experience with legal writing is preferred.

Salary
  • $19.30 - $23.99/hour
