This Docketing Technician (Office Automation) performs docketing and complex legal report development using computerized case tracking and record-keeping systems in the United States Attorneys Office (USAO).
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Docketing Technician (Office Automation) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Florida, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Fort Pierce, Florida; Miami, Florida; West Palm Beach, Florida, focusing in the areas of legal support.
Typical work assignments will include:
- Maintains and extracts data from automated docketing databases and systems.
- Assists in troubleshooting systemic problems and recommending solutions.
- Provides legal support services to AUSAs.
- Produces a variety of written documents and materials utilizing a wide range of office automation applications.
- Exercises confidentiality, tact, discretion and judgment in determining what information may be properly released.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
To qualify at the GS-7 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
- Maintaining automated docketing records and ensuring their accuracy and completeness;
- Using databases and office-automation software to analyze data and prepare reports or legal materials;
- Reviewing case files to identify, research, and correct missing or inaccurate information;
- Responding to case inquiries, explaining docketing procedures, and resolving system or processing problems.
Typing Proficiency: To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required)
