Salary
The position will report to the Senior Vice President of Human Capital & Legal and requires a skilled and well-rounded individual who can support the firm on a broad range of risk, compliance, and insurance matters. Candidates MUST have experience working in the LTL industry.
Critical Job Functions:
- Provide legal guidance on business transactions, litigation, contracts, risk management, and compliance matters.
- Draft, review, and/or negotiate a broad range of documents, including third-party contracts, non-disclosure agreements, insurance contracts and other documents relevant to Roadrunner’s business activities
- Identify and evaluate legal risks within U.S. operations, researching and interpreting existing and emerging laws to guide informed business decisions and risk assessments
- Provide employment litigation support, conduct fact investigation, manage discovery requests, review litigation filings, participate in mediation and settlement negotiations.
- Provide advice and counsel on employment related issues including but not limited to recruiting, wage & hour compliance, employee relations, performance management, discipline and terminations, workplace investigations, reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence and discrimination, and compensation and benefits.
- At least three (3) years of experience working as an attorney in the LTL industry.
- Strong knowledge of US employment laws, contract law, and corporate governance.
- Must be well-versed in insurance and reviewing agreements.
- Litigation and contracts experience is preferred.
- Must have intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office that allows for efficient administration of programs.
- Strong communication (written and oral) and collaboration skills working with multiple external and internal contacts including site / business contacts, Payroll, IT, Recruiting, and Legal.
- Must be a self-starter, extremely detail oriented, able to work independently and in a team environment, regularly meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Compensation:
- The anticipated compensation for this role is $115,000 - $125,000 per year.
