We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our accounting team, in support of our Legal departments.
Accounting Assistant Job Duties:
The position requires broad technical accounting knowledge and experience. Professional qualities necessary to fulfill the job include organizational skills, an intense desire to execute delegated tasks promptly, detail accuracy, multi-tasking ability, confidentiality and daily reliability.
Responsibilities
- Process, cash, check and wire payment receipts; record deposits
- Enter invoices and process accounts payable / vendor payments
- Manage accounts receivable in conjunction with firm staff
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements
- Assist with client bills at month-end in collaboration with accounting and firm staff
- Enter general ledger information in accounting software and spreadsheets
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Other accounting and administrative tasks assigned by colleagues and firm leadership
Required:
- B.S. in accounting OR significant accounting experience (> 2 years)
- 2+ years: spreadsheet experience (Excel and Google sheets)
- 1+ years: Google G Suite experience preferred
- Preferred: Experience in QuickBooks a/o version upgrades
- Capable of efficiently learning and utilizing specific legal accounting software
- Able to work independently and under the supervision of team members
- Ability to fulfill deadlines in a high-volume accounting environment
- Conduct daily business with absolute confidentiality
- Must pass a background check
- The applicant must be reliable and dependable
