Description
As our In-House Counsel, you will play a critical role in advising company leadership on a wide range of legal matters, managing risk, and ensuring compliance across our operations. You’ll oversee everything from contract negotiations and corporate governance to employment law, safety compliance, and vendor agreements. This is a unique opportunity to shape legal strategy and partner with executive leadership in a complex and growing global environment.
As our In-House Counsel, you will be responsible for:
- Legal Affairs: Serve as the primary legal advisor for all corporate legal matters.
- Contract Review and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including customer, vendor, and supplier agreements to minimize risk and protect the company’s interests.
- Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and international laws affecting corporate operations and governance.
- Employment Law: Provide guidance on workplace compliance, policies, and practices, ensuring adherence to applicable labor and employment laws in the US.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Monitor regulatory changes, identify legal risks, and proactively implement strategies for compliance in areas such as safety, trade, and environmental regulations.
- Safety & Liability: Partner with operational teams to support workplace safety compliance and manage legal exposure related to environmental health and safety.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters, working with external counsel as needed.
- Training & Policies: Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures, and training programs to mitigate risk and ensure legal awareness across teams.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience, with at least 3 years in a corporate legal environment (manufacturing or industrial sector strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of contract law, corporate governance, employment law, and regulatory compliance
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across diverse global teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with international operations or global entities
- Familiarity with safety regulations, vendor management, or product liability law
- Experience supporting HR, safety, or compliance teams in a manufacturing setting
