Responsibilities

As a Farah Litigation Assistant, you will provide administrative support for the Attorney and Paralegal. You will conduct legal research, preparing documents for hearings, scheduling client meetings, depositions, court dates and providing case status updates to clients. This position will multi-task a variety of office activities to make sure the office runs successfully.

 

  • Organize and maintain case files in paper or electronic filing systems
  • Maintain pleading and discovery indexes
  • Maintains case costs by verifying outstanding balances with attorney, clients, and providers
  • Acting as liaison among all parties for coordination and calendaring of meetings, appointments, mediations, hearings, and deadline dates in Outlook
  • Draft legal documents and proofread for accuracy, including demand letters, pleadings, and client correspondence
  • Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediations, organizing materials for team case review
  • Follow-up with providers for missing medical records, billings, liens, and PIP logs
  • Keep clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating case progress
  • Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties
  • Be able to read and comprehend position specific documents and correspondence
  • Ensure compliance to all company Policies, Procedures, and expectations
Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in a legal setting 
  • Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with legal technology & terminology
  • Knowledge of E-filing process, scheduling, rules of evidence and civil procedures
  • Working knowledge of case management software
  • Familiarity with the rules of federal and state procedures
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with the public, other employees, and vendors
  • Ability to work autonomously while highly focused and detailed-oriented
  • Demonstrate exceptional analytical skills
  • Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, appearance, and compliance to company dress code
