The AOC has unique and exciting opportunities to serve as a Construction Representative Aide during the Summer Internship Program, which offers hands on professional experience, networking, training and most of all, exposure to careers in public service on Capitol Hill.
Duties
Construction Representative Aide
The Construction Representative Aide position provides an excellent opportunity to assist construction inspectors and construction representatives in the oversight of assigned construction activities for projects on the Capitol Campus.
Students in this role will support the Contract Officer's Representative (COR) with a variety of administrative activities to include developing construction change order estimates, coordinating meetings to include agendas and post meeting action items, and ensuring contractor work is performed to the highest standard based on the scope of work.
In this role the students will attend safety training and assist in reviewing contractor safety plans, and report safety deficiencies to the COR for immediate correction. In addition, the students will attend safety training and performs work with care and in a safe manner to avoid injury to self and others and damages to equipment and property.
As a Construction Representative Aide, the students will also work in collaboration with the COR to consult with on-site and off-site architects/engineers and assist other project personnel in resolving design conflicts to ensure construction changes, proposed by contractors, are feasible.
Salary- $17/hour

To be eligible, you must be a current student who meets the following requirements:

Note: Participation in the Summer Intern Employment Program is limited to a total of three years. Candidates are eligible to participate no more than three years, collectively or consecutively, in the Summer Intern Employment Program. Candidates who have reached the three years in the program will be deemed ineligible to participate this calendar year.
All students MUST be U.S. Citizens or a person who is lawfully admitted for permanent residence and is seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)(B).
