We’re looking for a freelance Paralegal who understands the unique legal considerations of experiential marketing, live events, and brand partnerships. This role will support our legal and production teams across a wide range of contract, compliance, and event-related legal needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Support for Live Events & Activations:
Review and redline SOWs, production agreements, venue contracts, vendor MSAs, talent releases, and brand/client agreements specific to event production and activations.Vendor & Talent Compliance:
Ensure third-party vendors and freelancers are properly contracted, insured, and compliant with legal and event safety requirements.Permit & Licensing Coordination:
Support research and documentation for city/event permitting, health department approvals, and alcohol service compliance across multiple markets.Insurance Verification & Risk Mitigation:
Help track COIs, ensure event activations meet legal/risk requirements, and flag exposure concerns for on-the-ground experiences.Document Management & Legal Ops:
Maintain our contract database and template library. Track legal versioning, signatures, and filing for all project-related contracts and releases.Cross-Functional Support:
Partner closely with our internal production, accounts, and operations teams to help navigate legal workflows from pitch to execution.
Requirements:
3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in marketing, media, or production environments.
Familiarity with event-related legal documents: venue contracts, talent releases, COIs, location agreements, etc.
Strong working knowledge of legal risk in experiential marketing, including IP, usage rights, and brand representation.
Able to handle quick-turn deadlines and support multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working independently, remotely, and asynchronously.
Proficiency with Google Workspace, DocuSign, and simple project management tools.
Nice to Have:
Experience coordinating permits in major U.S. markets (LA, NYC).
Prior work with creative agencies, event production companies, or entertainment law firms.
