Victim Witness Supervisor

Supervises the activities and employees of the Victim/Witness Program within Yellowstone County Attorney's Office (YCAO). This includes services to victims, and witnesses of homicide, sexual assault crimes, and crimes with children as victims, adult family violence crimes, juvenile crimes and felony crimes. Assists with the day-to-day operations of the YCAO.

• Manages the Victim/Witness (VW) Program services, which include support for victims of crime during investigative and judicial processes and explanation of the criminal justice system; 
• Selects, trains, evaluates, and disciplines staff in the Victim Witness program within the County Attorney Office; assigns and reviews work of staff, ensures compliance with labor contracts, and employment laws;
• Develops and implements policies and procedures to meet mandates for victim services; determines appropriate service levels; reviews and evaluates work of staff;  
• Evaluates overall program performance; confers with Office Administrator and County Attorney in regard to operational improvements for more efficient and/or effective service delivery; 
• Knowledgeable of existing laws and up to date on proposed legislation at all levels to ensure program compliance.

Education/Experience/Training:

• Graduation from a college or university with a Bachelor's degree in criminology, sociology, psychology, social work, or closely related field; and 
• One (1) years' Victim Witness or related experience, preferably in a legal environment with supervisory experience; or 
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling five (5) years. 

• Valid driver's license issued by the State of Montana.
