Job Summary:

The Paralegal-Real Estate will assist our in-house legal team in connection with the company’s lease portfolio.  They will review and prepare lease and related documentation, organize lease files, and assist with administrative tasks. Collaboration within the company is key.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial lease agreements, amendments, terminations, estoppels, SNDA’s, broker agreements and other real estate and construction-related documents, for review by attorneys.
  • Manage the leasing legal review process flow and assist in developing similar process flows to further efficiencies within the department.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including real estate, facilities, finance, accounting to ensure alignment on lease terms and issues.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of documents utilizing transaction management software.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to review and proofread documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Assist in reviewing invoices and timekeeping submissions by outside counsel.
  • Provide administrative assistance as needed to include entering database related billing and invoice information, entering attorney matters into the legal department’s contract management system, scheduling meetings, maintaining notes of meetings with internal stakeholders and following up on action items from the same, drafting letters, and other projects as requested.
  • Coordinate the preparation of outgoing mail shipments for time-sensitive documents, ensuring accurate labeling, packaging and timely delivery.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to positively interact with all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly
  • Strong knowledge of real estate law principles and regulations
  • Proficient in document management software
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Education/Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in real estate within a corporate environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field of study.
  • Experience with law department contract management systems and reporting.
