This role will work with business and legal affairs leadership as an execution partner, helping to negotiate and implement complex agreements in a fast-evolving media landscape.
The department in which this position sits is at the intersection of traditional entertainment, the creator economy, and technology-driven production. The ideal candidate is a highly versatile executive who thrives in a startup-like environment within a large media company. This individual has a demonstrated ability to be a strategic thinker as well as manage a high volume of day-to-day work, and can effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and a strong track record in negotiation, drafting, and analysis while contributing to a fast-paced, evolving business.
Regular, on-site attendance at the workplace for a minimum of four (4) days per week is an essential function of the position. The selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in negotiating and drafting a wide range of agreements, including production, creator, and licensing deals
Support internal stakeholders by guiding deal terms and risk considerations
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including production, ad sales, technology, and business teams, to help execute partnerships and initiatives
Provide support on technology-related initiatives, including workflow development, task management, and integration
Assist in addressing legal and policy considerations related to new technologies and content
Contribute to the development of internal processes, templates, and best practices
Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
JD degree and active member of the California bar; Will consider those eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status (Rule 9.46)
8+ years of legal experience (top-tier law firm and/or in-house media company experience strongly preferred)
Experience negotiating production, talent, and/or technology agreements
Strong legal judgment, drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset and keen attention to detail
Ability to work well with clients and peers
Ability to support multiple projects at one time and solve problems while working under pressure

Combination of law firm and in-house experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $128,000.00-160,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
