Job Description

Daystar Television Network is a Christian organization, seeking to hire a Paralegal to work at our Headquarters office in Bedford, Texas.
 
The Paralegal is responsible for the preparation, review, and editing (including creating standard templates) of various forms of contracts and agreements such as tower and satellite agreements, programming agreements, multichannel use agreements, third-party vendor and service agreements, etc.
Must be a committed Christian dedicated to the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
 
****We are looking for paralegal experience in a corporate environment/setting and preferably some broadcast.****
 
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and edit contracts and agreements including tower and satellite agreements, programming agreements, multichannel use agreements, and third-party vendor and service agreements, etc.
  • Create and manage standard templates for various contracts.
  • Calendar, monitor, and track expirations, renewal and termination dates for all company-wide contracts and agreements.
  • Interface with local general counsel and third-party legal counsel on occasion.
  • Review and track all real and personal property tax assessments, invoices, and changes in assessments and charges.
  • Monitor and track FCC licenses and related filings for over 100 TV stations, interfacing with FCC counsel as needed.
  • Oversee trademarks and copyrights, interfacing with trademark and copyright counsel as required.
  • Implement an internal electronic filing system for all company-wide contracts, agreements, and organizational documents for both domestic and international entities.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating all organizational documents such as Articles, Bylaws, meeting minutes, resolutions, and other related documents.
  • Maintain and update required reporting with respective regulatory authorities.
  • Generate, review, and prepare reports from multiple departments for Executive Management review.
  • Undertake special projects as directed by Executive Management.
  • Maintain a good attendance record.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong administrative and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, be flexible, and prioritize in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies.
  • At least five years of related or proven experience.
  • Corporate experience in a broadcast environment is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
