Job Description

The Strategic Intelligence Assistant is responsible for supporting various business development initiatives and projects. This includes working closely with other members of the Strategic Intelligence team in the preparation of actionable intelligence on clients, prospects and competitors to support the Firm’s priorities and goals. This role will implement best practices for organizing, collecting, analyzing and presenting content, and will ensure the quality, accuracy and consistency of research produced by the Business Development team. 

  

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Support the Strategic Intelligence Director in the production of actionable strategic analysis and reporting to guide internal initiatives and inform stakeholders’ decision-making.  

  • In conjunction with other members of the Strategic Intelligence team, conduct in-depth research on key clients and prospects as well as market, industry and competitor trends, utilizing both internal and external data sources. 

  • Proactively monitor clients, industries and markets to identify trends and opportunities to drive business development efforts across practices and offices.  

  • Assist in the maintenance of internal databases related to Strategic Intelligence projects.  

  • Assist with special projects as needed. Collaborate across Business Development to identify ways to support initiatives and specialized projects.  

  

Required Education  

  •  Bachelor's degree  

 

Required Skills and Experience 

  • Solid research acumen and strong data analysis capabilities. 

  • Intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated interest in, and knowledge of, the legal services industry.  

  • Capable of independently asking questions, anticipating needs and identifying solutions to produce actionable intelligence.   

  • Ability to create clear, concise and well-structured written and verbal communications.  

  • Strong attention to detail, superior organizational and project management skills, and demonstrated commitment to the accuracy and completeness of information. 

  • Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.  

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively across teams.  

 

 

Physical Demands ( to perform essential job functions) 

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. 

  • Sitting: Remaining in the seated position, particularly for sustained periods of time 

  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another 

  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally 

  • Carrying: Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder 

  • Pulling/Pushing: Using upper extremities to exert steady force upon an object so that the object moves toward or away from the force 

  • Bending/Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine, or by bending legs at knees 

  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction 

Salary Information

NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
