Wunder is building a Modern Energy Company.
We were founded with one simple vision: to address the greatest crisis of our generation by accelerating the deployment of solar energy. In doing so, we help businesses, municipalities, and schools save money by delivering clean on-site power. We convert simple warehouses into electrified industrial platforms built for the future. We enable the nation’s leading commercial and industrial real estate firms to capture the benefits of solar across their properties. We align ESG goals with revenue targets, and the renewable energy assets we’re deploying today will power America’s tomorrow.
Wunder currently holds more than $1 billion in solar assets under management and capital commitments. Our team has evaluated more than 10,000 properties for solar across all 50 states. Our average solar system—about 480 kilowatts in size—can offset 350,000 pounds of coal burned each year of system operation!
The RoleAt Wunder, we have an incredible opportunity for a motivated and impact-driven paralegal with significant transaction and contract experience to join our growing team. Your role, broadly speaking, will be to solve hard problems and support the proliferation of solar across the United States.
You will partner with our solar development teams to efficiently drive our transactions forward and serve as the point person for managing Wunder’s contracting process. Specifically, you will draft, review, summarize, and manage contracts, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, track redlines and issues during negotiation, build and refine standard contracting processes, and oversee the advancement of complex commercial transactions.
At Wunder we're using technology and standardization to crack the multi-billion dollar commercial solar market wide open. If you get excited about diving into the details of real estate transactions, developing best-in-class and industry standard documentation, working with accomplished solar industry professionals, and joining a fast-paced, sophisticated team passionate about fighting climate change, then this role is for you.
About You- You’re a Contracting Pro - You have experience reviewing, drafting, and managing contracts—especially in real estate or energy. You’re comfortable with the intricacies of complex agreements like leases and power purchase agreements, and you know how to ensure the details are covered to get the deal done.
- You Know How to Manage Complex Transactions - You have experience advancing complex commercial and/or real estate transactions, tracking issues and redlines, managing transaction documents, and working directly with external stakeholders to ensure all of the details needed to make the deal happen are covered.
- You’re Autonomous - You’re comfortable jumping head-first into complex transactions. You quickly grasp the details, assess potential issues, and efficiently manage your time to handle competing priorities. You take full ownership of the contracting process, ensuring everything moves forward smoothly from start to finish.
- You Get Stuff Done - You’re energized by the challenges of scaling up transaction volume and processes. You're happy to jump on the phone with external stakeholders, fire off a bunch of emails, jump into a spreadsheet, draft contract language, or summarize redlines. Wunder is a growing solar development company, and we close big deals and make a big impact. A lot needs to get done, and you’re always on the look out for how you can help.
- You’re Detail-Oriented and Process-Driven - You can juggle multiple responsibilities, deadlines, and obligations without missing a beat. You understand the necessity of accuracy, and you thrive off of checking the details not once, not twice, but three times. You’ve got the skills to establish and refine processes that reduce errors and help us move faster. When it comes to contracting, you’re the one we can count on to keep everything on track.
- You have a Team Ethos - You thrive in a creative, inventive, fast-paced startup environment, with people who are passionate about their work and mission. This isn't a big bank or law firm where your responsibilities might be siloed; while you will work semi-autonomously, you'll also need to work dynamically and cross-functionally.
- You Believe That No Problem is Too Hard - You know how to articulate and roll out solutions, recognizing there may be many solutions to the same problem. You find new and effective ways to streamline and create processes to increase efficiency. In an industry where people are constantly stuck, we find ways to get it done.
- You Value In-Person Collaboration - You appreciate that some problems are best solved at a white board, or by collaborating with teammates in person. This is an in-person role so candidates must currently live in, or must be willing to relocate to, the Boulder/Denver area. You’ll be working out of our Boulder HQ at least three days a week. You should be comfortable that this in-person expectation may change to five days per week in the future.
