Job Description

Senior Immigration Attorney – Deportation/Removal Defense

Location: Remote with travel when required by the judges of immigration courts in Seattle, Chicago, BaltimorePhoenix and potentially any of the 32 immigration courts nationwide. TRAVEL PAID FOR BY EMPLOYER.

Schedule: Fulltime, 35 billable weekly at minimum.

Salary Range: Negotiable and depending on experience, will include a generous profit-sharing plan

Including standard benefits of health, dental & vision as well as 401k, paid vacation and sick time and PTO.


About The Firm:

Our client is a distinguished immigration law firm founded by a refugee immigrant and alumnus of Sandra Day O'Connor's College of Law. The burgeoning practice has built upon its founder's reputation of integrity, respect, resilience and servitude. They are broadening their practice into deportation and removal defense as well as refugee and asylum law. This pivotal hire will pioneer the expansion of the firm into broader practice areas of family, refugee and asylum immigration law, thus paving the way for growth towards a national presence.


Do you have the skill to head trailblazing litigation of deportation cases and asylum/refugees' rights as the Lead Immigration Attorney of a firm with rooted in migrants' advocacy?


The Opportunity:

The Senior Immigration Attorney will spearhead the firm’s expansion into deportation and asylum cases, managing proceedings before immigration judges in various jurisdictions. While the firm's reputation lies in business immigration, this role is designed to establish a foothold in removal defense, asylum law, and family-based immigration.


You will work directly with the Founding Partner and play a critical role in developing a caseload while delivering exceptional service to diverse clients, including Hispanic, Arabic, and Eastern Asian communities.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in deportation and removal defense cases.
  • Advocate for asylum seekers and manage family-based immigration matters.
  • Build a caseload with a target of 35 billable hours weekly.
  • Travel as needed to handle cases in various U.S. jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team of legal assistants and support staff.


Required Skills:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) and U.S. Federal Bar admission.
  • Demonstrated expertise in immigration law and courtroom advocacy.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish, Farsi, or other relevant languages.
  • Experience representing clients in removal proceedings or asylum cases.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with case management tools such as Docketwise or Lawmatics.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A compassionate approach to client service, particularly with underserved communities.


This role is instrumental in broadening the firm’s reach and establishing a strong presence in deportation and asylum law.
