The attorneys for Studios are members of a diverse and dynamic Legal Affairs team. Studios attorneys work collaboratively with other lawyers, Business Affairs executives, production executives, and creative executives who are redefining the future of media and entertainment. You will support the delivery of compelling creative and great storytelling while building your legal career in the entertainment industry. Attorneys will be expected to provide guidance and direction reflecting sound judgment and substantive legal knowledge.

In this role, on any given day, you might:
Work in a supportive role to provide direction and guidance in connection with basic legal issues related to the development and production of motion pictures.
Draft, review and negotiate both “below-the-line” and “above-the-line” agreements for the development and production of motion pictures.
Analyze and research chain of title and other rights issues.
Provide guidance on basic intellectual property matters, claims, clearances, and other matters arising out of the day-to-day operations of a large motion picture studio to Business Affairs, Creative, Production, Casting and other internal clients.
Liaise with internal business and creative clients, legal department contacts and other advisory departments within the company (Labor, Tax, Intellectual Property, etc.) as well as external talent attorneys and agents
At least one (1) year of relevant legal experience
A collegial and collaborative lawyer with a commitment to a positive working environment within the legal organization.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, discretion and sound judgment.
Strong drafting, organization, and time management skills and attention to detail.
Ability to identify and analyze legal issues and propose solutions and strategies for resolution.
Excellent work ethic and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build professional, interdepartmental relationships at multiple levels.
Desire to immerse yourself fully and learn all aspects of the studio business.
Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines/deliverables.
It would be great if you also had these skills:
Experience at The Walt Disney Company or other major studio or production company; and
Experience working in a large public corporation.
Required Education
JD degree or equivalent from an accredited law school.
Admission to the California State Bar in good standing or, willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel.
