Job Description

Business & Immigration Paralegal


Location: Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33309 (reliably able to commute regularly is a requirement)

Schedule Remote/Hybrid schedules and pay increases will be considered after a 3-month probationary period

Compensation: $585000–$75,000 annually, $200 monthly stipend towards healthcare, discretionary year-end bonuses


Role Overview:

This motivated Paralegal oversee the end-to-end process for employment-based visa applications and family-based immigration petitions, ensuring regulatory compliance and conducting clear communication with the clients about how to setup, navigate and maintain their online portals and e-filing systems for government entities like the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the United States Department of Labor (USDOL).


To this end, the paralegal will also be responsible for making sure all client files are accurate and updated as well as uploaded properly into the e-filing portals. The paralegal may also consult clients on how they can self-maintain their visa status by learning and studying the regulations so that they can adhere to the requirements of their visas. The paralegal will be encouraged to consult clients on best practices and procedures, how to organize and keep documentation accurate, understand approval timelines and deadlines for filings as well as explain any supplemental required documentation and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and file a range visa applications, including non-immigrant applications (EB, TN, H-1B, J's, O's, OPT, EAD, I-140) and family-based immigrant (I-140, I-485, I-130, I-765) petitions.
  • Conduct research on immigration law pertinent to each client's need for employment-based visa approvals.
  • Maintain accurate records of all filings, approvals, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with USCIS, DOL, and DOS regulations throughout all casework.
  • Track and report case progress, meeting deadlines and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Distribute approval packets and provide guidance for consular appointments and travel.


Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Legal Studies or subsequent legal experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing high-volume visa processing and immigration applications/petitions.
  • Proficiency in USCIS/DOL electronic filing systems and electronic document management software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with adeptness in writing and technology
  • Bilingual required (Spanish), Multilingual preferred (Portuguese, Chinese, Tagalog, Korean, Russian, etc.)
