Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Legal Assistant - Spanish Bilingual to join our firm, specializing in Employment Class Action cases. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with interest in employment law who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to be a part of a team in fighting against employer misconduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize files; update files with case status and information, and notify the assigned attorney.
- Manage assigned attorney's calendar and send reminders; schedule and calendar appointments and meetings for attorneys.
- Prepare documents for filing with state and federal courts.
- Draft letters to clients, including mediation, deposition, distributing discovery, distribution of funds, etc.
- Assist paralegals with the discovery process.
- Draft case initiation documents, summons, complaints, notices, motions, civil case cover sheet, civil case cover sheet addendum, and any accompanying documents.
- Assist attorney in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (strongly preferred)
- Strong writing skills
- Experience: minimum of 1 year of litigation experience in employment and/or class action law
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of state and federal courts and agencies within labor and employment law practices.
- Knowledge of service deadlines for various litigation tasks, including familiarity with the California Code of Civil Procedure
- Bilingual (Spanish)
