Serving as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge/ Chief ATF National Academy (ASAC-ATFNA) reporting to the Special Agent in Charge of the ATF National Academy. The mission of the ATFNA is to lead and inspire recently hired Special Agents, Industry Operations Investigators, and other personnel, through high-quality education and law enforcement training. The ASAC-Chief ATFNA is responsible for serving as the Senior Authority and advisor to senior ATF leadership.
Duties
The major duties of the Deputy Chief, ATF National Academy position includes, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage, Direct, and Oversee the subordinate Criminal Investigators and Instructors in developing and executing a fully integrated and comprehensive training curriculum for federal Criminal Investigators.
- Oversee administrative and operational function of the ATFNA and guiding subordinate Supervisory Criminal Investigators and Criminal Investigators in the development and delivery of technical training related to subjects such as search warrants, criminal complaints, criminal investigation case management, surveillance techniques, control and arrest techniques, firearms and violent crime investigations, undercover techniques, crime scene documentation, use of force, and a wide variety of related criminal investigative issues.
- Ensures systematic evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of the training program and formulates solutions to identified weaknesses.
Salary
- $152,040 - $197,200/year

Qualifications
Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.
Specialized experience must include all of:
- Providing leadership and supervision to a team; AND
- Evaluating and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of training program; AND
- Providing investigative expertise and advice for criminal enforcement operations, organizational performance objectives, and training functions relating to ATF field operations and law enforcement programs.
