Paralegal – Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting, editing, preparing, proofing, redlining, correspondences and agreements related to sports and entertainment, including agreements relating to independent contractors, talent, marketing, media, multimedia, content, licenses, performance, services, non-disclosure agreements, and other agreements with oversight of attorneys.
  • Update various contract templates as needed with direction from attorneys.
  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Maintain department trackers, coordinate approval processes and update contract databases.
  • Utilize electronic signature (Adobe eSign), calendaring applications, and contract management systems to ensure documents are inputted, executed, distributed, renewed, and stored accordingly.
  • Serve as custodian of all executed agreements, policies, and other legal documents.
  • Perform other general legal and administrative responsibilities as requested and as necessary.
  • Serve as a liaison between legal and business teams for weekly status updates.
  • Provide administrative support (e.g., maintenance of calendars, expense reports, copying, filing, phones).

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department in a contracts/transactional support role.
  • Knowledge or willingness to watch current and historical WWE programming.
  • Strong PC and program skills including MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Concur.
  • Proficiency in reading contracts and understanding and synthesizing key contractual terms for entry into contract database system.
  • Able to prioritize in a dynamic, exciting, fast-paced working environment, frequently under urgent deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines with accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and written and verbal communications skills (including spelling and grammar).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and be a team player with the rest of the Legal Affairs department.
  • Willingness to work outside traditional work hours for urgent matters.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sports and Entertainment legal work experience.
  • Juris Doctor degree but comfortable in paralegal role.
  • Paralegal certificate.
  • CT Notary Public certification (active).
