Job Description
Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP, a major Delaware law firm with a diverse business practice, is seeking a Billing Clerk to join our Finance Team. The Billing Clerk assists in the administration of the electronic billing process for participating clients and vendors and assists with other billing-related tasks.
This position reports to the Billing Manager.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review newly opened matters ensuring all required information is entered into Aderant in appropriate fields.
- Maintain profiles for each electronically billed client, including guidelines and constraints.
- Set up client electronic billing including new matters, timekeepers, and budgets.
- Monitor new timekeepers on electronic billed clients, to ensure they are submitted and accepted timely.
- Work with other Finance team members to perform monthly reconciliation of BillBlast and Aderant to ensure invoices have been successfully billed and follow up with billers as needed.
- Work with other Finance team members to ensure proactive follow-up on aged and short-paid invoices submitted electronically.
- Assist in calculating and submitting monthly client accruals.
- Respond to audit letter requests.
- Assist billing specialists as needed.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 2- to 4- years of experience in a similar position. Law firm, corporate legal, or related billing experience required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and orally with lawyers, staff, vendors, and clients.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Windows applications. Aderant experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with electronic billing systems such as Legal Exchange, CounselLink, TyMetrix and Collaborati.
- Experience with E-Billing Hub strongly preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
