Assistant General Counsel, Partner Contracts (Onsite 4 days- Brentwood, TN)

The Assistant General Counsel, Partner Contracts reviews, drafts, negotiates and interprets contracts.  Reviews and provides advice regarding government procurement instruments.  Advises internal stakeholders regarding the company's rights and obligations under existing contracts.  Serves as the primary legal department liaison to the Partnership Relations and Development teams.

• Reviews and negotiates recommended revisions on all new and existing facility management contracts and amendments while ensuring compliance with applicable law and regulations.
  
• Prepares summary of facility management contracts for executive committee.
  
• Serves as the primary legal department liaison to the Partnership Relations and Development teams.
  
• Participates in negotiations and strategy team meetings as liaison to Partnership Relations and Development teams.
  
• Reviews and advises on government procurement instruments and the procurement regulatory environment.
  
• Ensures that all contracts are approved internally prior to execution in accordance with CoreCivic policy.
  
• Provides legal advice to Facility Support Center and facility staff as needed regarding all contract and procurement issues.
  
• Provides advice on statutory and other legal requirements regarding procurement and contract issues.
  
• Manages the submission and resolution of matters requiring approval within the Company's contracting state.
  
• Maintains professional contact through national, state and local bar association activities and other professional associations involved in corrections, procurement, federal, state and local government contracting.
  
• Maintains professional competency through continuing legal education and educational seminars relative to corrections and procurement.
  
• Domestic U.S. travel may be required.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Juris Doctor degree and authorization to practice law in Tennessee. 
• Must have contracting or other transactional experience.  
• Strong analytical and negotiating skills as well as verbal and written communication skills are required.  
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment at a fast pace, multitask and prioritize.  
• Knowledge of government contracting and procurements desirable, but not required. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
