Overview:
A leading firm is seeking a skilled Trial & Litigation Associate to join their legal team across their Southern and Northern California offices. This role involves supporting high-level civil litigation matters, primarily for public sector entities. The ideal candidate will have 35 years of relevant litigation experience and must bring a solid background in public entity law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
• Manage discovery processes, including electronic discovery
• Conduct depositions and prepare for trial proceedings
• Represent clients in state and federal court
• Collaborate on complex litigation strategies involving cities, counties, and special districts
• Work with constitutional/statutory defenses and government claims procedures

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of litigation experience (open to more senior candidates)
• Proven experience representing public sector clients
• Strong understanding of government claims procedures and public agency litigation
• Proficiency in dispositive motion practice and deposition handling
• Must demonstrate experience in managing complex litigations
• Must provide relevant writing samples
