Job Description

Howard & Howard is seeking a dedicated IT Helpdesk Specialist to join our team at the Royal Oak office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service within IT support, excellent problem-solving abilities, and exceptional communication skills. This role involves receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end-user help requests. We are looking for a self-motivated, outgoing individual with a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an onsite IT resource for the Royal Oak office and support remote offices as part of the IT team.
  • Provide timely, first-level contact for IT-related customer issues; diagnose, resolve, or escalate helpdesk issues.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support PCs, printers, mobile devices, desktop phones, video conferencing, and other related equipment.
  • Evaluate and manage technical support systems hardware and software; recommend purchases and improvements when necessary.
  • Provide remote and in-person technical support to resolve helpdesk requests.
  • Work with vendors to ensure timely product or service delivery or repair.
  • Maintain accurate records of all helpdesk interactions, including issue resolution and follow-up actions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and user guides for end-users.
  • Monitor and manage IT inventory, ensuring all equipment is accounted for and in working order.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Prior work experience in a helpdesk environment supporting end-users.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting various hardware and software systems.
  • Experience with remote support tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and configurations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
