What You'll Do
You'll be a trusted partner to our attorneys and a reassuring presence for clients navigating challenging situations.
- Manage family law matters from opening through resolution, including divorce, parental rights, support, and post-judgment matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, financial statements, and settlement agreements.
- Organize case files, financial disclosures, evidence, and trial exhibits.
- Assist with hearings, mediations, and trials, including preparing witnesses and supporting materials.
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel while managing filings, calendars, and deadlines.
- Conduct legal research and accurately track billable time.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of paralegal or high-level legal assistant experience, including significant family law experience.
- Familiarity with Maine court rules and family law procedures.
- Strong drafting, writing, research, and organizational skills.
- Sound judgment, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new tools. Microsoft Office proficiency required; Clio experience a plus.
- A degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Compensation: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
