Job Description

Position Summary
The selected intern will work directly with the Title IX Coordinator, who is a licensed attorney. Through the tasks listed below, they will learn about Title IX’s regulatory requirements, with focus on the internal complaint process for Title IX at a state university, the steps in implementing Title IX support services, and Title IX record-keeping. This is an in-person position. Remote work will not be considered.

Duties And Responsibilities
Assisting in closing out files by writing case summaries and completing party correspondence. Observing at intakes when agreeable to the complainant. Observing and participating in policy development. Completing at least one legal research project that will generate a writing sample. Contributing to, and participating in, educational outreach efforts. Protecting the confidentially of case information at all time. The selected intern will be offered the chance to complete a Title IX certificate free of charge if they choose. Other tasks consistent with Title IX may be assigned as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
B or higher in legal writing or comparable writing-focused coursework. Interest in regulatory law or administrative procedure.
