We are actively hiring Pre-Litigation Case Managers and Litigation Paralegals to join our growing team. These are fast-paced, people-focused positions where you'll be a critical part of the client journey. All paralegals at The Jeffcoat Firm are expected to uphold ethical compliance with the South Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct, accurately document all actions and communications in client case files, and actively participate in required daily huddles and monthly firm-wide meetings. These shared responsibilities help ensure consistent, high-quality service and strong collaboration across our team.
Pre-Litigation Case Manager Responsibilities:
- Responsible for documenting all actions and communication in the client’s case file.
- Interact with clients providing case status, assistance with medical treatment, collecting case information, and education as to the personal injury claim process.
- Build sustainable relationships and engage clients by going the extra mile.
- Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
- Review medical records and bills.
- Draft demands.
- Verify lien amounts.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion.
Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and edit legal documents such as discovery, demand letters, correspondence, and pleadings
- Manage scheduling with clients, medical providers, witnesses, and court proceedings
- Handle case preparation and filing, including organizing and collecting relevant records
- Maintain case files, attorney notebooks, databases, spreadsheets, and update case management software
- Draft correspondence, legal documents, and mediation statements
- Oversee the service of process and resolve related issues
- Process third-party invoices
- Assist attorneys with pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and the preparation of clients and witnesses for deposition
- Support trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness coordination
Who you are:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Paralegal certificate or degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year of personal injury experience in a paralegal or similar role.
- Minimum of 2 years of plaintiff’s personal injury litigation experience required to be considered for a Litigation Paralegal position.
- Familiarity with South Carolina and federal court procedures and rules.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Litify experience is a plus.

Additional Details:
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
