
Role Purpose
Under the guidance of the VP and Associate General Counsel, this team member will provide legal counsel, support, and representation of the company in several areas of focus related to hotel development, including real estate development, hotel management agreements, capital investments and asset management.
Your Day-to-Day
- Legal Management: Handle legal aspects of hotel development transactions, capital investments, and asset management.
- Resource Utilization: Efficiently use outside counsel and external resources; develop strategic legal directions.
- Team Oversight: Direct internal and external teams, ensuring performance, budget adherence, and timely administrative tasks.
- Document Handling: Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents to meet company standards.
- Advisory Role: Counsel management on legal issues, evaluate legal impacts of strategies, and maintain good client relationships.
- Representation: Support management in dealings with external parties and coordinate with other legal departments.
- Outside Counsel Management: Manage and work with outside counsel and counsel for outside parties as appropriate to ensure Company is represented fairly.
What We Need From You
- Bachelor's Degree and a Juris Doctor Degree. Member of the Georgia State Bar in good standing or other state, with subsequent membership of the Georgia Bar.
- At least 3 years’ progressive work-related experience in the practice of law with expertise in real estate, real estate financing, joint ventures and/or hotel management agreements.
- Substantive experience in at least one of the areas described above.
- Demonstrated analytical, research, and presentation skills, with ability to speak extemporaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to advise clients, structure transactions and negotiate and draft a variety of legal agreements.
- Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.
- Demonstrated experience in leading, advising and developing people.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, outside counsel, vendors and other third parties, senior management, and staff.
- Background in the hotel context is preferred.
Location: Atlanta, GA. Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.
The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $189,000. This role is also eligible for bonus pay (as applicable). We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, and other benefits to employees.
