
Position: Subpoena Clerk
Location: Miami
Job Summary:
Lydecker currently has a need for a Subpoena Clerk. The Subpoena clerk will be responsible for the comprehensive management of subpoenas, ensuring strict adherence to legal standards and deadlines. This role involves the preparation, service, and tracking of subpoenas, coordination with legal teams, timely response to legal inquiries, and proficient use of case management and invoicing systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare, serve, and track subpoenas, meticulously ensuring strict compliance with all relevant legal standards and rules.
- Maintain detailed records of all subpoena activity, including service dates, responses, and related communications.
- Provide timely and accurate responses to legal inquiries and client document requests, ensuring all relevant information is provided within specified timeframes.
- Collaborate with legal teams to prioritize and manage high-volume requests effectively, meeting critical court deadlines.
- Contact and follow up with medical and corporate facilities to request responsive records as required by subpoena, confirming delivery and receipt.
- Ensure the timely and accurate provision of requested medical and other records, adhering to confidentiality and privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
- Process invoice payments through the Matter Expert system, ensuring accuracy and proper accounting of costs.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files, both physical and electronic, within designated databases and software.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a legal or administrative role, preferably with a focus on subpoena processing or related tasks.
- Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction with legal professionals, clients, and external entities.
- Familiarity with invoice processing procedures and experience using relevant software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures, particularly regarding subpoenas and related compliance standards.
