The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General is currently seeking a full-time Paralegal for the Solicitor General Unit.

Job Summary: 

This position assists all attorneys and legal interns and works together with a legal assistant in preparing briefs, legal opinions, correspondence, and all other related legal work. This position will also assist attorneys in analyzing legal documents and instruments for clarity, as well as with typing and filing. The Solicitor General’s Division is primarily focused on appellate work before the Oklahoma Supreme Court and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, although some discovery and trial work is also performed by the division. By the very nature of the business transacted in the Office of Attorney General, work must be kept confidential. Employees are in a position of trust and must maintain that confidence. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

Qualified candidates will need to have completed a Paralegal program.

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Knowledge of proper formatting of legal documents
  • Proficiency in the use of the federal Judiciary’s Case Management/Electronic Court Files system
  • The ability to edit and proofread with proficiency
  • Experience in preparing lengthy legal briefs for filing, especially appellate briefs
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience performing legal research
