Your Mission
You will be part of Activision’s in house legal team, working in a collaborative and exciting environment where your ideas will be every bit as valued as your expertise. As Counsel, you will report to our Sr. Director of Legal and work with a number of Activision’s business teams. Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, but you can expect a diverse workload in videogame law, including:
- Supporting Activision’s brand protection, anti-piracy, and anti-cheat efforts
- Working closely with our business partners, such as Activision’s information technology, information security, e-sports, and Call of Duty Endowment teams
- Drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements and amendments
- Assisting with privacy work such as drafting and reviewing DPAs
- Working with product and marketing teams on ESRB game submissions, ratings, and marketing compliance
Player Profile
Qualifications/Training/Minimum Requirements
- Juris Doctorate and admission to California State Bar in good standing or admission to another State Bar and willingness and qualifications to be “Registered In-House Counsel”
- 2-4 years of experience as a practicing lawyer at a reputable law firm or suitable in-house position
- Strong interest in the gaming industry and emerging technologies such as AI and blockchain
- Transactional experience, focusing on concise drafting and practical business judgment
- Team player who can handle multiple, diverse projects simultaneously and under deadlines
- Ability to understand Activision’s games, business, and strategy and apply it to proactively identify legal risks and creative solutions
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced industry

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $111,780.00 - $206,882.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.- $111,780 - $206,882/year
