Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities: 

·         Maintain and update the calendars of assigned caseload 

·         Successfully set Motion Calendar hearings and Special Set hearings, depositions and mediations while being mindful of any court set deadlines pertaining to such 

·         Communicate with Clients, Judicial Assistants, Mediators and Opposing Counsel to set hearings, mediations, or depositions 

·         Input hearing information into SharePoint/ Smokeball  

·         Confirm hearings, depositions, and mediations 1 week prior to scheduled event  

·         Calendar and Comply with Court Issued Deadlines   

·         Knowledge of Judges' procedures of various jurisdictions that we may file cases under 

·         Monitor and manage schedule conflicts, ensuring timely resolution 

·         Send reminders and notifications regarding upcoming events and deadlines  

·         Respond to inquiries, relay messages, and provide updates on behalf of attorneys  

·         Send Correspondence to Clients regarding receipt of Proposal for Settlements  

·         Requesting Documents from Clients and Opposing Counsel (Proof of Mailing, PIP logs & EOBs, Verified Jurat Page, etc)  

·         Assist with drafting, e-filing and serving discovery  

·         Assist with drafting Notices, Motions, Proposed Orders, Agreed Orders and Joint Stipulations 

·         Draft and File Notice of Settlement and Voluntary Dismissals, as needed  

·         E-File Motions, Pleadings and Notices using the Florida E-Filing Portal 

 

Qualifications: 

·         Associate degree and/or paralegal certificate (preferred) 

·         At least 1 year of working experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting. 

·         Ability to multi-task and have adaptable time management skills 

·         Excellent verbal and written skills 

·         Ability to work independently and efficiently 

·         Detail oriented and highly organized 

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team player attitude 

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, Sharepoint) 

·         Familiarity of Smokeball or similar case management software 

·         Familiarity of Court Map, CMS portal and Tri-County Dockets

Salary: $20-22  per hour

 

Schedule: This position is ON-SITE in our Fort. Lauderdale office, with no remote/ hybrid schedule. Schedule is Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts, 8:30am-5:30pm
