About The Company:
The company is an elite matrimonial and family law firm located in White Plains, NY. We are experiencing rapid growth and are looking to add two (2) full-time Legal Assistants to our team. Preference will be given to candidates with experience at a firm that specializes in New York divorce and family law. Despite our demanding caseload, we pride ourselves on offering white-glove service to our clients, ensuring they feel as though their case is the only one we are handling.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant
- Prior experience in divorce and family law is preferred
- Bachelors Degree
- Strong attention to detail and excellent grammar/proofreading skills
- Experience with calendar management
- Ability to answer and field phone calls professionally
Key Responsibilities:
- Field phone calls to the firm, taking detailed messages from opposing counsels, clients, and other parties
- Manage attorney calendars, ensuring no conflicts and that all appointments are scheduled according to firm procedures
- Proofread and check grammar in all correspondences and legal documents drafted by the legal team
- Schedule meetings with clients, opposing counsels, and others involved in cases
- Request and catalog client personal information, including financial statements, personal identification documents, title deeds, and other relevant documents
- Maintain both hard and digital filing systems
- Always maintain a professional, courteous attitude when interacting with clients, opposing counsels, courts, and co-workers
