Description

McMichael Taylor Gray, LLC is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal for our Charleston, South Carolina office location. The Real Estate Paralegal is responsible for preparing loan packages according to state and/or federal regulations and ensure loans close in accordance with established policies and procedures. 

Requirements
  • Knowledge of all aspects of real estate closings to include title insurance. 
  • Experience reviewing title exceptions, coordinating due diligence activities
  • Reviewing and preparation of sale and loan documents
  • Research of corporate and UCC filings
  • Preparing closing checklists and scheduling transaction progress
  • General internet research. 
  • Review and verify title abstracts, prepare title commitments and policies 
  • Prepare closing documents, including settlement statements, deeds, and mortgages.
  • Draft purchase and sale agreements. 
  • Draft loan documents.


Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent professional communication skills. 
  • Proficient with SoftPro
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word
  • Well organized, effective time management, prioritize and allocate workload for optimum efficiency
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Strong work and business ethics; Self-motivated and able to work independently and as a Team Player
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years mortgage Pre-Closing, Closing, or Post- Closing experience is required
