Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., a leading environmental law firm, is looking for a litigation Paralegal to support the Firm’s attorneys. We are seeking a career-oriented individual with a view of being a long-term team member.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist with preparing pleadings, motions and other litigation instruments.
2. Assist with e-discovery; manage and control electronic and paper case materials.
3. Proofread, check accuracy of quotes and citation formats in legal documents.
4. Conduct electronic and paper filing with courts, agencies, tribunals.
5. Review documents and conduct factual analysis; conduct factual research.
6. Summarize legal documents and data; create compilations.
7. Assist with preparing reports, correspondence and litigation papers.
8. Review local court rules and identify filing requirements and deadlines.
9. Assist attorneys with depositions, trial, mediations, arbitrations or other forms of ADR
Draft and submit FOIA requests to state and federal agencies.
1. Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three years of relevant litigation experience.
2. Some familiarity with major e-discovery platforms such as CasePoint or Relativity.
3. Knowledge of electronic filings (state and federal), as well as court rules and procedures, litigation terminology and documentation.
4. Computer proficiency, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
7. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
8. Flexibility to work late and travel (locally and nationally) as needed.
9. Ability to retrieve and distribute print volumes, push and pull packages and books weighing up to 30 pounds, and ability to retrieve objects from shelves of up to 8 feet high and replace same.
10. Paralegal certificate a plus.
