Job Summary: The Associate In-House Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to the organization, focusing on reviewing and drafting contracts, policies and various communications; conducting investigations; leading committees; and offering general legal advice. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Review and Drafting: Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including but not limited to, service agreements, vendor contracts, and employee agreements. Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements and organizational policies.
  • Investigations: Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into internal and external matters as required. Prepare detailed reports and provide recommendations based on findings.
  • Committee Leadership: Lead and participate in various committees, providing legal guidance and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Collaborate with other departments to achieve committee objectives.
  • General Legal Advice: Provide timely and accurate legal advice to internal clients on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management. Assist in developing and implementing legal strategies to protect the organization's interests.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to ensure the organization remains compliant.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with General Counsel and various departments to support the organization's goals and initiatives. Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, health law, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent analytical, research, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the healthcare or behavioral health industry
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations affecting the organization
