The mission of the Antitrust Division is to promote competition by enforcing the antitrust laws to protect economic freedom and opportunity on behalf of the American people. The Antitrust Division is hiring an Administrative Specialist in Washington, D.C. to gain invaluable experience working in the public interest to protect the competitive process. Duties This position is telework eligible as determined by the agency. After the first 6 to 12 months on the job, there may be an option for this position to become remote.
This position is located in the Human Capital Directorate (HCD) of the Executive Office (EXO) within the Antitrust Division (ATR). EXO is a very dynamic and fast paced office, delivering the professional management services that power ATR's people and mission. Within EXO, HCD is comprised of the Human Resources Section, Paralegal Unit and Training and Professional Development.
As an Administrative Specialist, the responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing, proofreading, and reviewing reports, letters, and other documents providing recommendations for management programs, policies, and activities.
- Providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on questions and situations related to administrative services.
- Responsibility for team administrative duties to include travel administration, document management, timekeeping, scheduling, correspondence management, invoice management, records management, performance management, training coordination, office supply management, using automated systems to log and track data, escorting visitors, and managing team office space allocation.
- Gathering information, identifying, and analyzing issues, and developing recommendations to resolve substantive problems of effectiveness and efficiency.
- Participating in the development of new plans, schedules, or methods to accommodate changing program requirements.
- Identifying objectives based on an analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of substantive mission-oriented programs.
- Participating in planning sessions with supervisors and program managers to provide necessary information pertaining to the team's administrative operations.
- Performing a variety of duties related to special projects involving program issues that contain complicating elements. Managing special initiatives and working groups to accomplish programmatic goals.
- Conducting various ad-hoc analyses, preparing reports and compiling information for team management.
- Managing all aspects of the Division's transit benefits program.
Salary
- $99,200 - $128,956/year

- Experience managing the administrative functions for a team, including at least seven of the following duties: Travel administration, document management, timekeeping, scheduling, correspondence and invoice management, records management, performance management, training coordination, office supplies, data tracking, and team space allocation.
- Experience drafting clear, professional correspondence, reports, and other grammatically correct and error-free documents.
- Experience managing several tasks simultaneously and organizing time well to meet deadlines for individual and team assignments.
