This role will play a key role in expanding CCK’s presence among veteran-serving organizations, legal professionals, and community groups. This individual will take ownership of outreach initiatives, media relations, and event coordination to increase awareness of CCK’s work in VA disability claims and appeals. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about building relationships that support veterans.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement
- Independently build and maintain relationships with veteran organizations, law firms, and community stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for new outreach initiatives and propose engagement strategies
- Represent CCK at local events, forums, and meetings.
- Lead planning and execution of outreach programs such as webinars, sponsorships, and event booths.
Media Relations
- Own media outreach efforts, proactively pitching CCK representatives to local media.
- Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and outreach materials.
- Develop relationships with local journalists and media contacts.
- Monitor media coverage and maintain records of public engagement.
Communications & Content
- Manage social media accounts related to community engagement and media relations
- Assist in content planning for newsletters, blog posts, and outreach materials.
- Ensure messaging aligns with CCK’s mission and branding guidelines.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Take ownership of event planning and logistics for community events, campaigns, and workshops.
- Identify partnership opportunities and manage vendor relationships
- Track attendee engagement and event impact for reporting
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with event planning, coordinating logistics, and community outreach initiatives.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to identify and act on opportunities for outreach and engagement
- Ability to travel for events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings (25%).
Preferred:
- Experience in legal services, nonprofit management, or corporate social responsibility.
- Understanding of digital outreach, content marketing, and community engagement analytics
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting salary is $45,000 - $50,000 depending on experience

Additional Details:
- This role is required to report to our Atlanta, GA office daily.
- Work Schedule: This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST with a 30-minute lunch period.
