Position
overview:
Reporting to and supervised by the Chief Legal Officer, the Associate Attorney will work closely with internal stakeholders across all program and operational departments, as well as with outside counsel, to address domestic and international legal matters affecting the organization.
Practice areas will include but not be limited to, contract, employment, property (leases), insurance, and risk management. Other support will include creation, review, revision, and /or proofing of various corporate program documents, procedures, and communications.
Duties/Responsibilities
Practice areas will include but not be limited to,
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating
contracts,
- Employment compliance, audits, and investigations (as needed),
- Monitoring changes in applicable laws and advising on policy updates.
- Managing legal disputes, subpoenas, or regulatory inquiries,
- Assisting with insurance renewals and risk management,
- Developing and delivering compliance training for staff.
Other support will include creation, review, revision, and/or proofing of various corporate program documents, contracts, procedures, and communications. This role may also lead various compliance trainings.
Minimum Education/Experience:
- Candidate shall possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university and a Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA accredited law school.
- Candidate shall possess or obtain, within a reasonable period of time, a license, issued by the any State Bar, to practice law.
- 3-5 years of relevant nonprofit experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (specifically SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Working Environment: This position is fully remote. The employee is expected to work 40 hours per week from 9 am – 5 pm in their time zone Monday – Friday.
