Position Description:
The Paralegal, is responsible for maintaining the intellectual property needs at ATD. This includes document package files, coordinating required approvals, managing the New Dealer "On-Boarding" process, and maintaining communication with the Vice President regarding the status of each new dealer. Additionally, the Franchise Paralegal maintains and reports monthly store lists to management, assists as requested, and works closely with outside franchise and intellectual property attorneys.Key Responsibilities
- Act a liaison between outside counsel and in-house counsel for franchise and IP matters
- Act as primary administer for Counsel Link, including invoicing and financial reporting.
- Coordinate cease and desist letters.
- Maintain current and new Franchise dealer files. A copy of all Franchise program related documents are maintained in each Dealers permanent file.
- Management of intellectual property portfolio; working closely with the Hercules brand.
- Provide cancellation letters and follow-up on cancellation list for franchisees exiting the program
- Provide FDD’s and Franchise Agreements to field personnel
- Support annual FDD filings per state, including making updates to the FDD agreement for review, securing signatures, and monitoring renewals.
- Support New Dealer “On-Boarding” process and ensure completion within the established timeline.
- Support the contracting process for initial and renewal agreements with franchisees
