Job Purpose
In your role as legal/executive assistant you will provide direct support to the Chief of Staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provides high-level administrative support to in-house counsel, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence
- Drafts, review, and edit legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and discovery materials
- Assists in managing case files, maintaining accurate records, and tracking deadlines for filings and responses
- Communicates with clients, and witnesses to gather information and provide updates on case progress
- Assists with the review and resolution of small property damage claims made against Priority
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents as required by the executive team.
- Organize travel plans and itineraries for executives, ensuring all logistics are efficiently managed
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits
- Stay updated on changes in environmental laws and regulations
- Prepare and submit required environmental compliance reports to regulatory agencies
- Other projects and tasks as assigned
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate profile includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, Communications, or related field preferred but not required
- Experience in Law and legal document preparation
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal research tools
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team
- Knowledge of solid waste removal regulations is a plus but not required
