JOB SUMMARY
Legal Operations Paraelegal is responsible for drafting, revProvides legal support to Attorneys, acts as a key internal point-of-contact and subject matter expert, participates in various projects and initiatives to improve resources and increase efficiencies. Stays abreast of evolving requirements to ensure proactive alignment of policies, procedures, processing, filing and other work standards.
LOCATION
This role will be based on-site at our St. Petersburg, FL Corporate Headquarters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides support to multiple In-House Attorneys
Creates, maintains and reconciles various documents and records.
Proofreads and corrects prepared materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, format and content.
Composes letters, memoranda and prepares reports using knowledge of work area instructions and guidelines.
Provide summaries on contracts and contract negotiations, ensuring objectives are clearly understood and met, and represent the best position for Jabil taking into account, e.g., financial risk/reward, performance and business goals.
Follow established contract practices and internal procedures in review and revision of contract terms and conditions
Identify, communicate and revise terms to mitigate risk in contract terms and conditions; work with attorneys to resolve problems relating to contract terms and/or schedules.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and maintain positive interactions, including responsive communications, in all internal and external business relationships
Develop best practices and maintains contract databases.
Support, draft, review and negotiate, contracts under Legal’s review, including, without limitation, domestic and international agreements, NDAs, subcontractor agreements, manufacturing services agreements, and other commercial agreements with customers and suppliers.
Support attorneys in providing contract negotiation guidance and support to various business teams and advise on the risks and legal implications of the contract
Communicate effectively with Legal management to escalate issues and to secure necessary approvals with respect to non-standard terms and conditions outside of defined Jabil policy guidelines.
Coordinate with attorneys to make decisions pertaining to contract terms and conditions and deviations that require escalation to senior/executive management and Jabil Corporate Legal for review and approval.
Partner with NDA team on escalations, mailbox management and point of contact for partner functions related to NDA’s.
Oversight of the NDA repository management.
Provides oversight on the Commercial contract database.
Provides additional support related to Securitization, Audit, Bank, Insurance and SOX compliance.
Performs administrative and office support activities for multiple functional groups.
Schedules and arranges meetings and conferences
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of contracts, policies and procedures, business and government regulatory principles and procedures.
Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
Strong knowledge of global and regional manufacturing and supply chain operations and industry.
Strong and convincing communication skills.
Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and email skills required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related required.
3-5+ years of work-related experience required; preferably experience with working with attorneys.
Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
